New project samples underway

I am in the process of R and D on some new items; here shown, a prototype Android tablet cover under construction. The design is lifted from an art print book, presumably made and signed by that year’s class, from my father’s first year at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago- May, 1950. The book title: Flatly Spoken.

Wacky Jacket Update

I’ve been making some progress on the jacket, pictured earlier in 2013. It has thus far told me it needed to have bead embroidered tipped collars, and a scattering of rhinestones to add some sparkle and pizzaz to the potential of the fun random patterning. Also: the pattern reminds me of staring into the firey depths of hot coals, out of which has emerged the idea for translating a traditional rising phoenix design into my layered felt technique. More to come…
